چکیده
We show that Einstein’s gravity coupled to a non-minimally coupled scalar field is stable even for high values of the scalar field, when the sign of the Einstein-Hilbert action is reversed. We also discuss inflationary solutions and a possible new mechanism of reheating. PACS numbers: 04.60.-m, 98.80.Cq † e-mail: [email protected] ‡ e-mail: [email protected] ⋆ e-mail: [email protected]

متن کاملDetailed balance in Hǒrava–Lifshitz gravity
We study Hořava–Lifshitz gravity in the presence of a scalar field. When the detailed balance condition is implemented, a new term in the gravitational sector is added in order to maintain ultraviolet stability. The four-dimensional theory is of scalar-tensor type with a positive cosmological constant and gravity is non-minimally coupled with the scalar and its gradient terms. The scalar field ...

Asymptotically exact and nonlocal fourth order nonlinear evolution equations are derived for two coupled fourth order nonlinear evolution equations have been derived in deep water for two capillary-gravity wave packets propagating in the same direction in the presence of wind flowing over water. We have used a general method, based on Zakharov integral equation. On the basis of these evolution eq...

Pauli (or Einstein) frame is used to study the Brans-Dicke gravity theory, minimally coupled with dilatonic Brans-Dicke scalar field, whose solutions involve degenerate metrics. Some of these solutions exhibit transitions from an Euclidean domain to a Lorentzian space-time corresponding to a spatially flat Robertson-Walker cosmology.
متن کاملComparison of Frames: Jordan vs Einstein Frame for a Non-minimal Dark Energy Model
We construct a dark energy model where a scalar field non-minimally coupled to gravity plays the role of the dark component. We compare cosmological consequences of this non-minimal coupling of the scalar field and gravity in the spirit of the dark energy paradigm in Jordan and Einstein frames. Some important issues such as phantom divide line crossing, existence of the bouncing solutions and t...
